Running your first check

Governance checks fetch and validate each artifact file from your site, then score the results.

Automatic checks

When you add and verify a site, Flowpane automatically runs initial checks across all seven artifact types. Results appear on your dashboard within a few minutes.

Manual checks

To run checks manually:

1. Go to your site's detail page
2. In the Artifact Status section, find the artifact you want to check
3. Click the play icon on that artifact's card

Or run all checks at once from the Quick Actions section on your workspace dashboard.

What happens during a check

For each artifact, Flowpane:

1. Fetches the file from your site (e.g. https://yoursite.com/robots.txt)
2. Validates the content against the relevant specification
3. Identifies issues (classified as critical, warning, or info)
4. Computes a score on a 100-point scale
5. Generates a proposed corrected version if issues are found
6. Stores the results as a run in the site's audit history

Viewing results

After a check completes, the artifact status tile on the dashboard updates with the new score. Click the tile to open the full workstation view.
