Site metadata¶
Each site has metadata that helps tailor governance recommendations.
Metadata fields¶
| Field | Description | Auto-detected? |
|---|---|---|
| Site name | Display name from <title> or og:site_name |
Yes |
| Platform | CMS or framework (WordPress, Shopify, etc.) | Yes |
| Audience | Target market region (UK, US, Worldwide) | Partially (TLD guess) |
| Industry | Business sector (~130 options) | No |
| Tags | Free-text labels for organisation | No |
Confirmation modal¶
The first time you open a site's detail page, a modal appears with pre-filled auto-detected values. Review, correct, select your industry, and optionally add tags.
This modal only appears once. You can edit metadata at any time from site settings.
Why metadata matters¶
- Platform drives platform-specific recommendations
- Audience influences which compliance standards are highlighted
- Industry helps prioritise which governance files matter most
- Tags help you filter and organise sites (e.g. "priority", "client-acme")
